The point guard was born October 4th 1998 in Chicago Illinois. His older brothers taught him how to play basketball. During his high school career the athlete grew major attention from collegiate recruiters offering him scholarships to some of the top schools in the country. During Rose’s junior year in 2006, the Simeon Wolverines broke through and won the Chicago Public League championship held at the United Center where Rose starred with 25 points and crowd pleasing dunks. Rose accepted a scholarship to play for the University of Memphis Tigers under John Calipari, who recruited him after seeing him play in an AAU game. In 2008 Rose was selected first overall in the draft by the Chicago Bulls.
